The riverbed near Machi 3-chome (田町三丁目), which serves as the launch site for the Abekawa Fireworks Festival, is an ideal viewing area with its wide river and expansive open sky. As evening approaches, food stalls begin to appear, and the festive atmosphere spreads throughout the riverbed. Easily accessible on foot from Shizuoka Station, you can spread out takeout meals and street food purchased at the station on a leisure sheet for dinner. The Abekawa's river breeze becomes refreshing in the evening, making the waiting time before the fireworks itself a pleasant summer evening. As darkness falls, the riverbed fills up, so arriving early is key to securing a good viewing spot.

Tips
荒天時の開催可否は静岡市や大会公式の情報で当日に確認を。終了後は周辺道路と静岡駅方面の歩行者が大変混み合います。フィナーレ後はすぐ移動せず、しばらく河川敷で余韻を楽しんでから混雑が落ち着いた頃に帰路につくのがおすすめです。帰りは静鉄バスや徒歩での分散帰宅を心がけましょう。

About 20 minutes on foot from Shizuoka Station, or by Shizuoka Railway bus to Machi Bus Stop followed by about 10 minutes on foot. Food stalls form lines before the show begins, so it's wise to purchase food early. The riverbed has uneven ground and stones, so prepare a light for the return journey at night. Temporary restrooms will be set up, but they become crowded after evening, so use them early.
Best time to visit
Plan for approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. You can relax and wait for the show while enjoying the view of the Abekawa bathed in sunset colors.
