Located in the Kanzanji hot spring town by Lake Hamana, this is a facility dedicated to day-trip hot spring bathing. The building has 10 baths, including Hinoki-ka no Yu, which looks out on the garden through the seasons, and the rustic, large open-air bath Sekkei no Yu, surrounded by natural stones, with men's and women's baths alternating daily. Spaces for parents and children to spend time together are also available. Spend a moment before the fireworks begin warming up leisurely by the waters of Lake Hamana. It makes for a fitting break before heading to Bentenjima, tonight's main stage.
Tips
You can head straight down to the lakeshore after visiting Kanzanji Temple. The promenade is flat and easy to walk, reassuring even with small children in tow. Stocking up on drinks and snacks here makes things easier once you move on to Bentenjima. It's about a 20-minute drive to Bentenjima Beach Park.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 15 minutes. Around 3 PM, when the afternoon sun softens, is a pleasant time for a walk by the water.
