This beach park sits next to a scenic spot where Bentenjima's symbol, a large vermillion torii gate, stands in the water. Facing the channel between Enshu Sea and Lake Hamana, this spot is itself the viewing area for tonight's fireworks. In the evening, the contrast between the red torii gate and the sunset sky is beautiful, making for a particularly picturesque stretch of the day. Once you've spread out a picnic sheet to secure your spot, lay out your takeout dinner and relax while waiting for the show to start. Watching the colors of the sky and sea change as the sun sets is also one of the pleasures before the fireworks.
Tips
About a 5-minute walk from Bentenjima Station on the JR Tokaido Main Line. The area around the park becomes extremely crowded from the evening onward on the day of the fireworks, so securing your spot early is reassuring. We recommend finishing your food and drink shopping before this time. Checking the restroom locations during the day will give you peace of mind at night.
Best time to visit
About 2 hours. You can leisurely enjoy the sky changing color from sunset to twilight right on the beach.
