A castle ruins park of Takamatsu Castle (Tamamo Castle), located about a 5-minute walk from JR Takamatsu Station. Counted as one of Japan's three great water castles still in existence, its distinguishing feature is the rare nationwide structure where seawater from the Seto Inland Sea flows directly into the moat. As you walk atop the stone walls, the scent of salt spray accompanies an open vista where the islands of the Seto Inland Sea spread out before you. Climbing to the Tenshu Platform, you can take in a panoramic view of the Sunport area where tonight's fireworks will launch—a sight befitting the start of your day. Peering into the moat where sea bream and other fish swim is an experience children will love. Take time to leisurely explore the castle ruins while feeling the history connected to the Sanuki Takamatsu clan.

2026年8月13日(木)20時15分から30分間、サンポート高松周辺の水城通りから約6,000発の花火が打ち上がります。さぬき高松まつりは高松の夏を締めくくる最大の祭りで、花火大会はそのクライマックス。瀬戸内海を背景に開く大輪の花火は、海面にも光を映しながら夜空を彩ります。水辺に近い観覧エリアからは、花火の音と光が体全体に伝わる迫力の30分間。家族連れから地元の人まで多くの観客が詰めかける、高松の夏の最大の風物詩です。フィナーレの連発が終わり、煙が海風に流されていく静けさの中で、夏の夜の余韻をゆっくり味わいましょう。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否はさぬき高松まつり公式の発表で当日確認を。終了後はJR高松駅・ことでん高松築港駅周辺が大変混雑します。帰りの電車・バスの時刻は事前に調べておき、混雑が落ち着く終了後30〜40分後を目安に移動すると比較的スムーズです。足元が暗い場所もあるため、スマートフォンのライトを活用して安全に移動しましょう。

Tips

About 5-minute walk from JR Takamatsu Station. Admission is 200 yen for adults. Opening hours vary by season, so confirm in advance on the official website. The park isn't large, so you can tour it all in about an hour. The morning to early afternoon, before the fireworks festival crowds arrive, offers the most peaceful viewing experience.
