About this spot

The main venue for the Sakaide Ohashi Matsuri Offshore Fireworks Festival, the Sakaide Port Central Pier, is a wide pier open toward the Seto Inland Sea. It offers a prime location right in front of where the fireworks launch, with the silhouette of the Seto Ohashi Bridge visible in the distance. As the sun sets, the sea breeze becomes pleasant, letting you enjoy the nighttime atmosphere of the port even before the show begins. Claim your spot early and relax with snacks and drinks while you wait. If food stalls are set up, it's best to get what you need before the crowds arrive.

Tips

About 5 minutes by taxi from Sakaide Station, or 15-20 minutes on foot. Roads around the venue may be under traffic restrictions from the evening of the fireworks day, so public transportation or walking is recommended. Use the restroom early. After the show, it's a good idea to plan your departure timing with the return crowds in mind.

Best time to visit

About 1.5 hours. Arriving more than an hour before the show makes it easier to secure a good viewing spot.
