Japan's Only Site—Visit the Historic Temple Where Two Sacred Temples Stand Side by Side in the Same Grounds

Jinkei-in, the 68th sacred grounds temple, and Kannonji, the 69th sacred grounds temple of the Shikoku 88 Sacred Temples, stand side by side within the same grounds—the only such site in the entire nation. The grounds, reached by climbing stone steps, are filled with serene air surrounded by greenery, offering a place to escape the summer bustle and catch your breath. Jinkei-in's main hall features modern architecture, while Kannonji displays traditional pagoda structures in a striking contrast. This is also the temple that gave its name to Kannonji City and is a historic site closely connected to the name of tonight's fireworks festival. After paying your respects, you can walk directly toward the Senda River.

かんおんじ銭形まつり花火大会のクライマックス、財田川河口・琴弾廻廊裏から打ち上がる約3,000発の花火です。2026年7月18日(土)20時ちょうどに最初の一発が夜空を切り裂き、わずか15分間に凝縮された光と音の連続が観覧者を包みます。川面に映る花火の光が揺れる様子は、河口の水辺ならではの美しさ。銭形砂絵で知られる観音寺の夏まつりを締めくくるにふさわしい、瀬戸内の夜空を彩る光の饗宴です。昼に展望台から見下ろした有明浜と、この川口の花火が記憶の中で重なり、1日が一本の物語として完結します。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は観音寺市または大会公式の発表で必ず確認を。終了後は周辺道路と駐車場の出庫が大変混み合うため、車で来場の場合は駐車場の位置を事前に確認し、終了後は少し時間をおいてから移動するのが得策です。JR観音寺駅への帰り道も人が集中するため、スマートフォンのライトで足元を確認しながら安全に移動しましょう。

Tips

Approximately 15 minutes on foot from Ariake Beach, or a few minutes by car. Entry to the grounds is free. There are stone steps, so please be careful with your footing if walking with small children. On fireworks day, roads around the grounds become congested after evening, so it's recommended to complete your visit while it's still light.
