Held at Tsuda no Matsubara and Tsuda no Matsubara Beach for 30 minutes from 8:00 pm on Saturday, August 22, 2026, this fireworks display is the grand finale of the Sanuki City Tsuda Matsuri. Fireworks launch one after another into the night sky over the Seto Inland Sea, their shimmer reflected on the calm sea's surface. Against the backdrop of the white sand and green pines of a nationally designated Place of Scenic Beauty, the fireworks have a charm quite different from an urban fireworks display, and the view glimpsed through the gaps between the pine trees is especially memorable. Enjoy these 30 minutes, long cherished by locals as the climax of Sanuki City's summer festival, from the beach with the sea breeze all around you. Once the finale's glow has faded, watch your footing as you make your way back home through the pine woods.

Tips

In case of bad weather, the event is scheduled to be postponed to the same time on Sunday, August 23. Check the Sanuki City Tourism Association's official website and social media in advance for the latest information on whether the event will go ahead, or whether it is postponed or canceled. Roads around the venue get congested afterward, so walking back to JR Sanuki-Tsuda Station, or driving after a delay, is recommended. Lighting within the pine woods is limited after the event, so it is safer to bring a small flashlight.
