Masumizu Highland, spreading at an elevation of approximately 900 meters, is tonight's fireworks festival venue. From the grassland of this expansive highland, you can view Daisen's north face and the direction of Yugahama—a location with excellent vistas. At dusk, a fantastical sight unfolds as Daisen's ridgeline gradually becomes silhouetted. The very act of spreading out the dinner procured from the michi no eki and leisurely eating while waiting for the opening embodies the essence of highland sightseeing. Even on summer nights, due to the high elevation it is pleasantly cool, and with insect repellent and a light wrap, you can enjoy the evening comfortably. Nearby facilities include lifts and lodges; food stalls will be operating on the festival day.

2026年7月25日(土)20時30分開催の大山夏まつり花火大会は、中国地方最高峰・大山の北麓に広がる桝水高原を舞台にした夏の一大イベントです。標高約900mの高原から仰ぎ見る花火は、市街地の大会とは比べものにならない開放的な夜空に開き、大山の黒いシルエットとのコントラストが印象的です。澄んだ山の空気の中で響く打ち上げ音と、視界を遮るものがない広い高原ならではの全天パノラマの花火体験は、家族の夏の記憶に長く残るはずです。大山の自然と歴史を1日かけて巡ったあとのフィナーレとして、この花火はこの上なくふさわしい締めくくりです。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は大山町や大会公式の発表で確認を。高原の夜は真夏でも冷えるため羽織ものは必携。終了後は駐車場出口が混み合うため、車で来た場合はしばらく余韻を楽しんでから移動を。帰路は国道313号・9号方面が主なルートで、混雑を見越した時間に余裕のある行動計画を。

Tips

Car access to Masumizu Highland is convenient. Parking areas around the venue become congested on the festival day, so arrive early. Use the restroom before the opening. The ground is grass and soil, so athletic shoes are easier to walk in than sandals. After the event, traffic congestion is expected at exits—departing a bit later rather than immediately is recommended.
