Kakoi-cho, continuing from Yonago Station, is the central entertainment district of Yonago, once called the finest in Sanin. In the shopping arcade lined with restaurants and shops, you'll find numerous eateries and set-meal restaurants serving dishes made with local ingredients. Enjoy fresh seafood from Sanin, fish and shellfish from nearby Sakaiminato, and local vegetables, and have a hearty dinner before the fireworks. On the festival day, this area will see increased crowds from evening onward, but you can still enjoy a relatively calm meal compared to the port wharf venue area. Early arrival around 5 PM is recommended to avoid congestion.

米子がいな祭花火大会は、2026年8月9日(日)20時から米子港岸壁を会場に開催されます。「がいな」とは山陰地方の方言で「大きい・すごい」を意味する言葉で、その名にふさわしい約4,000発が中海の夜空に次々と打ち上がります。海に面した岸壁から眺める花火は視界を遮るものがなく、大輪の花火が水面に映る光景も見事です。晴れた夜には遠く大山のシルエットを背景に花火が開く、米子ならではの風景が広がります。フィナーレの連発では、港の夜空全体が光に包まれる圧巻のクライマックスが待っています。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は米子がいな祭実行委員会の公式発表で必ず確認してください。終了後は米子港周辺の道路と米子駅周辺が大変混雑します。電車をご利用の場合はJR米子駅の帰りの時刻を事前に確認し、終了後は少し時間をずらして移動するのがおすすめです。足元が暗くなるため、スマートフォンのライト機能や小型ライトを活用して安全に帰路につきましょう。

Tips

About 3 minutes walk from JR Yonago Station. On the festival day, restaurants will be crowded, so arriving early at opening time is key. After dinner, you can reach Yonago Port wharf by foot or bicycle in approximately 15-20 minutes. Head to the venue more than an hour before fireworks begin to secure your spot.
