To prepare for the fireworks festival, it's wise to have dinner in the Tottori Station area beforehand. While Tottori is famous for matsuba crab, in summer local Sanin ingredients such as rock oysters, white squid, and Daisen chicken are enjoyed at local eateries and restaurants. The shopping streets near the station and restaurants in the station building offer many options that can accommodate each family member's preferences. Since the Chiyokawara Citizen Sports Plaza fireworks venue is within walking distance of the station, you can move there with plenty of time after dinner. While food stalls and vendors will be around the venue, they get crowded before the start, so it's safer to have a proper meal at the station area beforehand.

Tips

This is an area within walking distance of Tottori Station with many restaurants. On the day of the fireworks festival, some shops can be crowded in the evening, so an early dinner in the 5 PM hour is recommended. The fireworks venue is about 15–20 minutes north along the Chiyo River from the station on foot. Use the restroom at the station after your meal to reduce wait times at the venue.

Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. Arriving before 5 PM allows for relatively smooth dining.
