The Chiyokawara Citizen Sports Plaza along the Chiyo River is the venue for the Tottori Shansshan Festival Citizen Cooling Fireworks Festival. Starting in the evening, spectators gather, and the sight of spreading leisure sheets on the riverside grass to wait for the performance to begin is a unique landscape of this day. The riverside twilight brings pleasant breezes, and as dusk falls, enjoy the changing colors of the sky turning indigo. Food stalls also appear, so you can pick up light snacks and drinks while leisurely waiting. Taking note of the venue atmosphere and securing a spot where the fireworks launch position is directly ahead of you is key.

Tips

From Tottori Station, walk north along the Chiyo River for approximately 15–20 minutes. Spot reservations begin more than an hour before the start. Use temporary restrooms near the venue early. Mosquitoes are prevalent near the riverbank in the evening, so don't forget insect repellent spray. After the fireworks end, wait a bit before heading back to Tottori Station to avoid the rush of crowds leaving at once.

Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes required. Securing your spot around sunset is reassuring.
