Amami's representative lively entertainment district stretching along Yanigo River (屋仁川) flowing through the center of Nase. Lined with restaurants and izakayas where both locals and tourists gather, this area will be filled with the excitement of the Amami Festival in the evening. Restaurants serving Amami's regional dishes such as chicken rice (鶏飯), pork bone broth, and somen noodle soup are concentrated here, making it perfect for dinner before the fireworks. Enjoy a full meal and experience the tropical summer festival atmosphere while walking along the bustling street in preparation for the fireworks display. Amami black sugar shochu is also a local specialty, but families with minors should toast with soft drinks.

Tips

Nase Commercial Port District, the fireworks venue, is within walking distance from Yanigo Street. On the festival day, the surrounding area will be crowded, so leave around 6:30 PM to secure your spot with plenty of time. Regional specialty restaurants are expected to be busy, so arriving early is recommended.

Best time to visit

Approximately 2 hours required. Early evening is the best time to enjoy southern island food and atmosphere.
