About 10,000 fireworks bloom one after another in the night sky over the East China Sea, and the sight of light spreading across the Kuroshio Current carries the power that symbolizes summer in southern Kyushu. The scent of the sea and the sound of the waves, unique to a port town, mix with the sound of the fireworks, creating an atmosphere quite different from an urban fireworks display.
