Sea bathing until evening on a shore looking out at the huge rock Tateiwa
About this spot
A swimming beach in Tango-cho, Kyotango City (京丹後市丹後町), open in 2026 from Saturday, July 11 to Sunday, August 16. Swimming hours are from 9:00 to 17:00. Its distinctive feature is the view of Tateiwa (立岩), a huge rock about 20 m high jutting out offshore, and the contrast between the clear blue Sea of Japan (日本海) and the white sand makes for a beautiful beach. Showers (cold water free), restrooms and changing rooms are in place, and there is parking for 100 cars, so families can spend the day without worrying about luggage or changing. From playing at the water's edge to playing in the sand, enjoy the sea of the Tango Peninsula (丹後半島) at length until evening.
