Next stop: A Photo Spot with a Spectacular View Where the Sea and Railway Bridge MeetAbout this spot
This small JR San-in Main Line station is located near the mouth of the Yura River, and is a spot railway fans will love for its wooden station building and the laid-back atmosphere of its platform. From the platform you can look out over the scenery leading to the Yura River and Wakasa Bay, and watch trains passing close by. Part of its charm is the quiet, unhurried pace of time that comes with being an unstaffed station, and it is just the right size for an early-morning stroll. Take a leisurely walk around the station as a kind of warm-up before your swim.
Tips
There is a small parking area in front of the station, but spaces are limited, so arriving early is recommended. Please be careful of passing trains when stepping onto the platform.
