Eateries using seafood landed in the Sea of Japan (日本海) stand side by side along the main street of Kinosaki Onsen (城崎温泉). In summer, many shops offer menus the whole family can enjoy, such as rice bowls made with firefly squid or local fish, making it perfect for refueling between public baths. With sea bathing coming in the afternoon, take care not to overeat while still stocking up on energy. After the meal, set off for Takenohama (竹野浜).

兵庫県豊岡市に位置する竹野浜海水浴場は、2026年は7月1日(水)から8月23日(日)まで、8時から17時の時間で開設されます。透明度の高さで知られる日本海の遠浅のビーチで、白い砂浜と青い海のコントラストが美しく、山陰海岸ジオパークの一角らしい雄大な景観も魅力です。浜辺には浜茶屋(海の家)が6軒並び、食事や休憩、シャワーなどに利用できます。小さな子ども連れにはライフジャケットのレンタル(500円)も用意されているので、波遊びの安心材料になります。有料駐車場もあるので、車での来訪もしやすい海水浴場です。
Tips
遊泳できるのは17時まで。着替えの時間を見込んで16時45分ごろには切り上げるのがおすすめです。浜茶屋の利用や駐車場は有料なので、現金や小銭を用意しておきましょう。ライフジャケットのレンタルは数に限りがあるため、混雑日は早めの利用がおすすめです。
Tips
Some shops get crowded at lunchtime, so enter with time to spare. Since it is before sea bathing, choosing easy-to-digest dishes makes the afternoon easier. Adjust your departure time allowing about 20 minutes by car to Takenohama (竹野浜).
