See the historic lighthouse that has watched over Ishikari Bay

About this spot

A historic lighthouse standing near the mouth of the Ishikari River (石狩川), which has watched over the safety of ships crossing Ishikari Bay (石狩湾) since the Meiji era. Viewing is mainly of the exterior, but the surroundings open into a broad vista, making it a spot where you can gaze leisurely at the horizon of Ishikari Bay. You can feel the presence of the lighthouse up close while enjoying the sea breeze, and it is popular as a photo spot too. It is close to Hamanasu no Oka Park (はまなすの丘公園) and easy to stop at as a continuation of the morning stroll.

石狩市のあそびーち石狩(石狩浜海水浴場)は、2026年は7月11日(土)から8月23日(日)まで開設される道内屈指の海水浴場です。ライフセーバーが常駐し、家族連れも安心して海遊びを楽しめます。特徴的なのは、貸出用の車椅子や専用トイレ・シャワーを備えたユニバーサルビーチとしての設備で、体の不自由な方も海を身近に感じられる工夫が行き届いています。トイレや炊事場、キャンプ場も併設されており、日帰りの水遊びから泊まりがけの利用まで幅広く対応。波打ち際での水遊びや砂遊びをしながら、夕方まで石狩の夏をゆったりと満喫できます。

Tips

設備や利用料などの詳細は現地の案内表示や公式情報で事前に確認しておくと安心です。北海道の海は本州に比べて水温が低めで、風が出ると肌寒く感じることもあるため、羽織れる上着があると安心です。車椅子の貸出やユニバーサルトイレ・シャワーを利用したい場合は、係員に声をかけるとスムーズです。

Tips

There is little large shade nearby, so hydrate frequently in summer. You may not be able to enter the lighthouse interior, so enjoy it mainly by viewing the exterior and taking photos.
