About this spot

Close to Otaru Canal, this dining street recreates the Meiji to Taisho period streetscape of Otaru, lined with sushi restaurants, seafood donburi shops, ramen joints, and more. In addition to dining establishments, the hall features a lookout tower modeled after a fire watchtower (火の見やぐら), offering both dining and exploration. With menus featuring fresh Hokkaido seafood, many restaurants offer children's bowls, making it perfect for family lunch. After refueling here, you'll head to the aquarium and sea in the afternoon.

Tips

Lunch hour can get crowded, so arriving before noon is recommended. Different restaurants have different ordering methods—some use ticket machines, others use seating service—so check the signage at the entrance.

Best time to visit

Takes approximately 45 minutes. Arriving in the early part of the noon hour tends to be smoother.
