Within walking distance from Usuki Castle Site Park, along a slope carved through steep rock faces, historic townscapes line the path with white-walled houses and temples in succession. The traces of Edo-period prosperity as a castle town remain vividly, and simply walking up and down the stone-paved slope provides a small taste of time travel. Old merchant houses and temples dot the road, and the quiet lanes are full of photo opportunities. The morning summer shade offers plenty of shelter, making it an easy time of day for historical sightseeing.

臼杵市佐志生の沖合に浮かぶ黒島にある海水浴場で、2026年は6月1日(月)から8月31日(月)までの開設です。佐志生港から渡船に乗って渡る、離島ならではの特別感が魅力。渡船は6時から18時まで運航し、往復運賃は中学生以上500円、3歳から小学生は250円です。7月4日(土)から8月末頃までは島に売店もオープンし、飲み物や軽食を購入できるので手ぶらでも安心。キャンプ場が併設されているため、テントを張ってのんびり1日を過ごす家族連れの姿も見られます。喧騒を離れた静かなビーチで、澄んだ海と磯遊びを夕方まで満喫しましょう。

Tips

佐志生港までは車でのアクセスが基本です。渡船の最終便は18時なので、着替えや片付けの時間を見込んで17時台には切り上げるのがおすすめ。売店は7月4日から8月末頃までの営業なので、それ以外の時期は飲み物や軽食を持参しましょう。日陰が少ないため、テントやパラソルがあると快適です。

About 10 minutes on foot from Usuki Castle Site Park. With many slopes and stone pavements, a baby carrier is more practical than a stroller. Since restaurants are limited, keep refreshment breaks to just hydration.
