Stroll while admiring Tsushima's symbol—the white limestone lighthouse

The white limestone lighthouse standing at the northern tip of Tsushima is a historic stone lighthouse built in 1876 and has been selected as one of Japan's 50 Most Beautiful Lighthouses. The area surrounding the lighthouse is maintained as a park with expansive lawns, offering a refreshing, open view overlooking the Suo-Nada Strait. The interior of the lighthouse can be climbed, and at the top of the spiral staircase, a panoramic view of Tsushima and the Japan Sea unfolds. Before heading to the beach, get some exercise and enjoy a refreshing vista befitting the start of your journey.

角島の西側に広がる角島大浜海水浴場は、2026年は7月17日(金)から8月31日(月)まで開設。白い砂浜と遠浅で穏やかな海が特徴で、家族連れの水遊びに向いています。遊泳は無料、駐車場も200台分無料で利用でき、気軽に立ち寄れるのが魅力です。バンガローや休憩所、シャワー施設、炊飯棟が整っているほか、キャンプ場やBBQスペースもあり、泳ぎ疲れたらそのまま海辺でゆっくり過ごすこともできます(ジェットスキーなどのマリンスポーツは禁止)。角島大橋の絶景めぐりで高まった気分そのままに、夕方まで思いきり海を満喫しましょう。

Tips

遊泳・駐車場ともに無料ですが、バンガローやキャンプ場の利用は有料です。シャワー施設があるので、帰り支度の前に潮を流していけます。マリンスポーツは禁止されているので、遊びは水遊び・砂遊び中心に。夏の砂浜は熱いのでビーチサンダルが必須です。

Tips

The walk from the parking lot to the lighthouse is very short. Visiting the lighthouse interior requires a donation. The spiral staircase is narrow, so hold hands with small children while climbing. The park has few shaded areas, so don't forget a hat and water.
