About this spot

A roadside station right beside Hagi Fishing Port (萩漁港), known for the fresh fish and shellfish landed locally that fill its counters. Inside, eateries serving seafood rice bowls and sashimi set meals sit alongside fishmongers and souvenir shops, so you can have lunch while sampling plenty of Hagi's seafood. Many of the restaurants have children's menus, giving the place an easy, family-friendly feel. Fill up properly here before the afternoon at the beach.

萩城下町のすぐそばに広がる、北長門海岸国定公園内の海水浴場です。2026年は7月18日(土)から8月23日(日)まで開設され、遊泳時間は9時から17時まで。快水浴場百選にも選ばれた白い砂浜と穏やかな波が特徴で、指月公園の緑を背景にした景観の美しさも魅力です。駐車場は70台分あり(1回1,000円)、遊泳そのものは無料。焚火・BBQ・花火は禁止されているので、砂遊びや波打ち際での水遊びを中心にゆったり過ごすビーチです。夕方まで思いきり夏を満喫しましょう。

Tips

指月公園・城下町からすぐの立地で、午前の観光からそのまま流れやすいのが魅力です。遊泳無料ですが駐車場は開設期間中1回1,000円かかるので小銭の用意を。夏の砂浜は熱いのでビーチサンダルが必携です。遊泳時間は17時までなので、着替えの時間も見込んで15分前には切り上げましょう。

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Shizuki Park (指月公園) and the castle town district. It gets busy at lunchtime on weekends, so arriving early in the 12:00 hour is recommended. Some of the eateries provide children's chairs.
