The shallow white sand beach facing the Japan Sea has relatively calm waves, making it popular with families with small children. Equipped with public toilets, changing rooms, showers, and first aid stations, with lifeguards on duty, you can enjoy swimming safely. Beach huts line the shore for rest and meals. Enjoy wave play and sand play on this open Shonai summer beach, spending time freely until 5 p.m.

Tips

Swimming is free, but parking charges a cleaning cooperation fee of approximately 0–1,000 yen for regular cars (varies by season). Summer sand gets very hot, so beach sandals are essential. Swimming hours are until 5 p.m., so it's recommended to wrap up around 4:45 p.m. to allow time for changing and cleanup.

Best time to visit

After 1 p.m., afternoon sunlight becomes stable, making it a time period where you can enjoy play until evening.
