About this spot

Taneichi Kaihama Park Beach in Yono Town, Iwate Prefecture, is open from July 20 (Mon., national holiday) to August 16 (Sun.) in 2026. Note that swimming is prohibited from July 21 (Tue.) to 24 (Fri.) due to staffing constraints, so check your visiting schedule accordingly. Swimming is free, and the sandy beach is equipped with a management lodge providing toilets, hot-water showers, and lockers, so you can safely manage changing clothes and valuables. The clear water and quiet sandy beach characteristic of the Kitasanriku coast are perfect for families who want to enjoy beach swimming without worrying about crowds. From water play at the water's edge to building sandcastles, enjoy Iwate's summer to the fullest until evening.

Tips

Showers cost ¥200 for adults and ¥100 for children; lockers cost ¥100 per use. Prepare small coins for smooth transactions. The sandy beach has strong sun exposure, so don't forget beach sandals and a sun shelter. The recommended swimming time is until 5 p.m., and it's suggested to wrap up 15 minutes early to account for changing clothes and cleanup time.
