About this spot

A museum conveying Tokoname's (常滑) pottery culture, where you can see tiles gathered from around the world and tour a kiln once used to fire clay pipes. Inside there are craft workshops where children can work with their own hands, making ceramics or polishing shiny mud balls, which makes it a popular indoor spot enjoyable even in the rain. It is just the right stop for a calmer spell before the beach.

愛知県常滑市にある海水浴場で、2026年は7月11日(土)から8月31日(月)まで、毎日10時から16時まで開設されます。遊泳は無料で、更衣室・シャワー・トイレが完備されているほか、カフェ施設やBBQエリアもあり、ライフジャケットの無料貸出もあるため、小さな子ども連れでも安心して海遊びを楽しめます。波打ち際での水遊びから砂のお城づくりまで、16時の終了時間まで思いきり夏の海を満喫しましょう。

Tips

駐車場は1日1,000円(11〜3月は500円)。更衣室とシャワーがあるので、着替えの荷物だけ持って身軽に出かけられます。遊泳時間は16時までなので、着替えの時間を見込んで15分ほど前には切り上げるのがおすすめです。BBQエリアを使う場合は道具や食材の持ち込みルールを事前に確認しておきましょう。

Tips

Within walking distance of Tokoname Maneki-neko Street (とこなめ招き猫通り). Some craft experiences require advance booking, so if you want to take part, checking early is recommended. The halls are air-conditioned, which also makes it a handy break during hot weather.
