A roadside station on the coast of Izumozaki Town, named after the history of Izumozaki (出雲崎), which flourished in the Edo period as territory directly controlled by the shogunate (tenryo, 天領). Inside, local seafood, farm produce and souvenirs are on display, making it a perfect start to the trip. From the observation area you can look out over the Sea of Japan and Sado Island (佐渡島), and in the clear morning air the view is wonderfully refreshing. Restrooms and rest areas are also in place, so it is a convenient stop for getting ready before the pool.
Tips
It sits along Route 352, making it easy to drop in by car. Mornings are relatively quiet, so you can enjoy taking photos and shopping at leisure.
Best time to visit
