About this spot

A roadside station in Kadena Town, and a spot unique to Okinawa where the rooftop observation floor lets you look out over a vast runway up close. You may get to watch planes take off and land, which makes it popular with children as well. Inside there is a local-products sales corner and a light-meal space, making it just the right size for a breather at the start of your trip. Its location, an easy stop on the way to Sunset Beach (サンセットビーチ) in Chatan Town, is another draw.

北谷町の美浜にある人工ビーチで、2026年は4月10日(金)から11月30日(月)まで開設されます。営業時間は9時から18時まで(季節により変動)。遠浅で波が穏やかな砂浜は小さな子ども連れの海水浴にも安心です。管理事務所やトイレ、シャワー、ロッカーが整備されているほか、BBQエリアもあり、海水浴の合間に家族でバーベキューを楽しむこともできます。名前のとおり夕方には美しい夕日が海に沈む様子を眺められる、北谷町を代表するビーチです。

Tips

美浜アメリカンビレッジから徒歩圏内でアクセスしやすい立地です。シャワーやロッカーの利用には料金がかかる場合があるため、小銭を用意しておくと安心。夏の砂浜は日中とても熱くなるのでビーチサンダルは必携です。営業終了は18時なので、着替えの時間を見込んで余裕を持って切り上げましょう。

Tips

The parking lot is large, so this spot is easy to reach by car. The observation deck is outdoors, so in summer take sun protection before heading up. There are times when aircraft noise is loud, so telling small children beforehand so they are not startled is reassuring.
