A roadside station just a short drive from the Toju Shoin Ruins (藤樹書院跡), where the bounty of Takashima (高島) is gathered. Local vegetables and fruit, prepared dishes made with Omi beef (近江牛) and other specialties unique to Takashima (高島) are on display, and the attached restaurant serves set meals and soba made with local produce. Benches and rest areas are in place, making it just the right stop for a proper meal before your swim. Choosing souvenirs is enjoyable too.

高島市に広がる琵琶湖畔のビーチで、2026年は7月11日(土)から8月30日(日)まで、朝8時から夕方17時まで開設されます。海のない滋賀県で家族に親しまれてきた湖水浴場で、澄んだ琵琶湖の水と穏やかな波が特徴。温水シャワーや共同炊事場、更衣室、売店を備え、着替えや食事の準備にも困りません。入場料は小学生以上500円、駐車場は1台1,000円です。すぐそばには白鬚神社の湖上大鳥居も望め、湖国ならではの景色の中で夕方まで水遊びと砂浜遊びを満喫できます。

Tips

道の駅藤樹の里あどがわから車で15分ほど。営業は17時までなので、着替えの時間を見込んで16時45分ごろには切り上げるのがおすすめです。日陰が少ない場所もあるので、テントやパラソルがあると快適に過ごせます。売店の営業時間は現地の掲示で確認を。

Tips

About 15 minutes by car to SHIRAHIGE BEACH (白ひげビーチ). It gets crowded at lunchtime, so arriving around 12 o'clock keeps things smooth. There are cold desserts and ice cream too, perfect for a break on a hot day.
