Adjacent to Yuigahama (由比ヶ浜), Zaimokuza Beach opens from July 1 (Wednesday) to August 31 (Monday), 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Swimming is free, and public showers and toilets are also free to use—a nice touch. Beach huts offer changing rooms for a fee. The relatively calm sandy beach is perfect for families to enjoy relaxing ocean time, from wave play to sand castle building. Enjoy the summer sea to the fullest until evening.

Tips

Accessible by foot or bus from Kamakura or Wada-zuka stations. Swimming is free, but beach hut rest and changing room use is paid. Beach sandals are a must as summer sand gets hot. Since swimming hours end at 5 p.m., plan to finish about 15 minutes early to allow time for changing.

Best time to visit

Afternoon after 1 p.m. has plenty of sunlight and is a good time to swim relaxedly until evening.
