One of Japan's most significant Yayoi-period settlement sites, spreading just beside Iki City Isshi-Koku Museum. With buildings from that era reconstructed, it's an open historic park where walking through rural landscape allows you to imagine ancient life. Though summer sun can be strong outdoors, there's shade scattered throughout, making it enjoyable to verify your museum learning within actual scenery.
Tips
As it's an outdoor historic site, don't forget hat and water. The walking distance from the museum makes it easy to visit both in sequence.
Best time to visit
About 45 minutes. Light walking before strong midday sun is recommended.
