About 20 minutes by car from Hara Castle Ruins, Sezatsuki Lighthouse at Shimabara Peninsula's southern tip offers panoramic views of Amakusa Islands, Ariake Bay, and Tachibana Bay. The lighthouse area is developed as a park with walking paths offering sea views amid ocean breezes. On clear days, you can see across to Kumamoto's Amakusa region and the seas connecting to Maehama Beach—a perfect photo-worthy spot for family vacation memories.

南島原市加津佐町にある前浜海水浴場は、2026年は7月18日(土)から8月30日(日)まで、9時から17時まで開設されます。橘湾に面した穏やかな海と広い砂浜が特徴で、無料駐車場が約120台分用意されているため、車での家族連れの訪問にも便利です。海水浴エリアとは別にマリンスポーツ専用区域が設けられ、SUPやカヌーを楽しむこともできます(水上バイクの利用は禁止されています)。波打ち際でのんびり水遊びをする子どもから、マリンスポーツに挑戦したい家族まで、それぞれのペースで夏の海を楽しめるビーチです。
Tips
遊泳時間は17時までなので、着替えや帰り支度の時間を見込んで16時45分ごろには切り上げるのがおすすめです。マリンスポーツを楽しみたい場合は、専用区域内かどうかを事前に確認しましょう。日陰が少ないので、パラソルやテントがあると快適に過ごせます。
Tips
Lighthouse viewing area is minutes' walk from parking. Some unpaved sections—wear comfortable shoes. Unfenced areas exist, so watch small children carefully.

About 45 minutes. Morning before intense sun recommended.
