The representative beach of Shimoda City, opening from July 18 (Saturday) to August 31 (Monday) 2026, with hours from 8 AM to 4 PM. Extending about 800 meters is a pristine white sandy beach with a gently sloping, transparent azure sea, known as one of Izu's most beautiful swimming beaches. With changing facilities, showers, and beach huts available, families can spend the day without concern for meals or changing. About 300 parking spaces are available. From water play at the water's edge to swimming further out, make the most of summer until closing at 4 PM.

Tips

Swimming is free, but surrounding parking typically costs 1,000 to 2,000 yen per day. The summer sand becomes very hot during the day, so beach sandals are essential. Since the beach closes at 4 PM, plan to exit the water around 3:45 PM to allow time for changing. On crowded weekends, arriving in the morning makes parking easier.

Best time to visit

After 2 PM, the sun is less intense, making swimming more comfortable until closing.
