View the beauty of Seto Inland Sea islands from the mountaintop observation deck of the Shoai Peninsula

Standing at 352 meters at the center of the Shoai Peninsula, Mount Shiude's observation deck offers a breathtaking 360-degree view of islands like Shodoshima and Womegi Island floating in the Seto Inland Sea. The road up to the summit allows families with small children to enjoy the spectacular views without strenuous hiking. The mountain is also known for its connection to the Momotaro legend, with gazebos and benches near the observation deck providing comfortable spots to take in the scenery. Gaze toward Tsutajima, where you'll be heading later, and build anticipation for the afternoon's sea bathing.

Venue: 三豊市・蔦島海水浴場
仁尾港から渡船で約7分の沖合に浮かぶ、蔦島の無人島にある海水浴場です。2026年は7月5日(日)から8月30日(日)までの開設で、渡船は8時30分から16時45分まで運航しています。渡船代は往復で大人600円・小人300円で、遊泳そのものは無料です。真っ白な砂浜と透明度の高い海が広がり、瀬戸内海ならではの穏やかな波は小さな子ども連れでも安心して遊べます。シャワー(有料)やトイレ、桟敷(有料)といった設備は整っていますが、更衣室はないため水着は事前に着用しておく必要があります。無人島ならではの静けさの中、夕方まで思いきり海水浴を楽しみましょう。
Tips
渡船は8時30分から16時45分まで。水着は仁尾港に着く前に着用し、島には売店がないので飲み物や軽食は仁尾港で調達を。シャワーと桟敷は有料なので小銭を用意しておくと安心です。帰りの渡船に間に合うよう、16時前には片付けを始めるのがおすすめです。
Tips
The observation deck is just a few minutes walk from the summit parking lot. The mountain road has many curves, so drive carefully. Summer has little shade at the observation deck, so bringing a hat or parasol is recommended.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour. Morning's clear air allows distant islands to be seen clearly.
