About this spot

Ube Shrine in central Kokufu Town is the primary shrine of ancient Inaba Province with a long history. The deity Takenouchi no Sukune is known as a god of longevity and was depicted on old yen notes and coins. The shrine building, set against a green mountain backdrop, has a quiet and solemn atmosphere perfect for morning prayers. The grounds are not too large, making it easy for families with young children to walk around.

Tips

Parking is available near the shrine. With stone steps and gravel paths, carrying straps or comfortable walking shoes are safer than strollers. Summer shade from trees is pleasant, and visiting in the morning avoids intense sun.

Best time to visit

About 30-40 minutes. Morning is recommended when fewer visitors allow leisurely viewing.
