JR Ibusuki Station (指宿駅), the gateway to the Ibusuki hot spring area, is a station with a striking resort-like atmosphere reminiscent of the tropics. Inside and around the station building are shops selling Ibusuki's local specialties and souvenirs, convenient for picking up towels for the sand steam bath or extra beach gear. There is also a tourist information center in front of the station, perfect for checking the day's plans. It is about a 10-minute drive to Ibusuki Port Coast Beach, making it a comfortable starting point for the day.

Tips

There are coin lockers in front of the station, so it's a good idea to store bulky luggage there and travel light. Checking the latest operating status of the sand steam bath at the tourist information center will give you peace of mind.

About 45 minutes. Shopping is relatively calm in the morning right after opening
