About this spot
A signature natural sand steam bath facility representing Ibusuki. Lie down on the sandy beach in a yukata robe, and staff gently pile warm sand heated by geothermal energy over you, providing an experience of warmth unique to Ibusuki. This unique bathing method where hot spring heat induces sweating fascinates children, and the view of sea and sky from inside the sand is also exhilarating. After the sand bath, you can freshen up in the large bath, so you can proceed to the rest of your sightseeing comfortably.

指宿市街から近い指宿港のそばに広がる海水浴場で、2026年は7月18日(土)から8月31日(月)まで、10時から18時まで開設されます。更衣室とシャワー室は仮設ながら無料で利用でき、約190台分の駐車場も整っているので、車で訪れる家族連れにも利用しやすいのが魅力です。遊泳は無料。指宿港の穏やかな海は波打ち際での水遊びから砂遊びまで、小さな子どもとも安心して楽しめます。午前の砂むし温泉で温まった体を、午後は海でしっかり冷やしながら、指宿の夏を締めくくりましょう。
Tips
遊泳時間は18時までなので、着替えの時間も見込んで17時45分ごろには切り上げるのがおすすめです。更衣室・シャワーは仮設のため数に限りがあり、混雑時は順番待ちになることも。夏の砂浜は熱いのでビーチサンダルを忘れずに。
Tips
Store valuables in lockers and change into the provided yukata before using. The sand bath takes about 10 minutes. Remember to stay hydrated as you'll sweat profusely.

About 45 minutes. Early mornings have relatively shorter wait times.
