About this spot

This beach spreads out by Ibusuki Port, close to central Ibusuki, and in 2026 it will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Saturday, July 18 to Monday, August 31. The temporary changing rooms and shower facilities are free to use, and with parking for about 190 cars, it's an appealing, easy-to-use spot for families arriving by car. Swimming is free. The calm waters of Ibusuki Port are safe for young children to enjoy, from splashing at the water's edge to playing in the sand. After warming up at the sand steam bath in the morning, cool off thoroughly at the sea in the afternoon to bring your Ibusuki summer day to a perfect close.

Tips

Swimming hours end at 6 p.m., so it's recommended to wrap up around 5:45 p.m. to allow time for changing. The temporary changing rooms and showers are limited in number, so you may have to wait your turn when crowded. The summer sand gets hot, so don't forget beach sandals.

Best time to visit

After 2 p.m., the sunlight softens a bit in the afternoon, giving you plenty of time to swim until evening
