About this spot
A golden female statue standing on the east shore of Lake Tazawa and serving as the symbol of the lake. It was built to commemorate the legend of Tatsuko-hime, who became the lake's guardian deity wishing for eternal beauty, and her figure gazing out at the lake is one of the highlights of a lakeside walk. Promenades have been developed around the statue, allowing you to enjoy the rich blue of the lake up close. After viewing, be sure to have lunch at one of the restaurants scattered around the area, where you can enjoy Akita specialties like Inaniwa udon while preparing for your afternoon lake swim.

仙北市の田沢湖畔に開設される湖水浴場で、2026年は7月18日(土)から8月30日(日)まで、8時30分から17時まで利用できます。日本一の水深を誇る田沢湖ならではの澄んだ青い湖面と、白砂の遠浅ビーチが広がり、監視員が配置されているため家族連れも安心して水遊びを楽しめます。利用は無料で、湖畔の開放的な景色に囲まれながら、波打ち際での水遊びから砂遊びまで思い思いに過ごせるのが魅力です。周囲を山々に囲まれた静かなロケーションは、海の海水浴場とはひと味違う夏の楽しみ方を教えてくれます。
Tips
遊泳時間は8時30分から17時までと決まっているため、着替えの時間を見込んで15分前には切り上げるのがおすすめです。日中の砂浜は日差しが強いので、パラソルや帽子で日陰を確保しましょう。周辺には売店が少ない場所もあるため、飲み物は事前に用意しておくと安心です。
Tips
About 10 minutes by car from Lake Tazawa Swimming Beach. There's a parking lot along the lakeside, and you can walk right up to the statue. For lunch, arriving around noon before the restaurants get crowded is recommended for a smooth experience.
Best time to visit
About 40 minutes (including lunch time). During the bright midday sun, be sure to wear a hat and take breaks in the shade
