Located on the Pacific coast in Shimanto Town, Kōchi Prefecture, Okitsu Beach opens from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily from July 1 to August 31, 2026. Swimming is free, and 50 parking spaces are freely available—a wonderful feature for families. The beach has restrooms and a hot water shower (100 yen). The adjacent Okitsu Youth Travel Village offers bungalows and camping facilities. The simple, open beach allows families to enjoy their own pace—from playing in the shallow waves to searching for shells. Spend the evening making the most of Kōchi's clear sea.

Tips

Free parking for 50 vehicles ensures a smooth visit by car. Hot water showers cost 100 yen—take a full shower before changing. Summer sand gets very hot, so bring beach sandals and sun protection. Swimming closes at 5:00 PM; it's recommended to leave the beach by 4:00 PM to allow time for cleanup and changing clothes.

Best time to visit

Afternoon from 1:00 PM onwards offers high sun and extended beach time until evening.
