Held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, this is the climax of the Kihoku Toro Festival, which caps off summer in Nagashima, Kihoku Town. From 19:30 to 20:30, fireworks color the night sky over Nagashima Port, facing Kumano-nada. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, this ria-coast port creates a powerful fireworks display where the sound reverberates in a way unique to the setting. It's a fitting close to a day that began with a walk along the Kumano Kodo, ending in a summer night in a port town.
