About this spot

This is the area around the port in Nagashima, Kihoku Town, where the Kihoku Toro Festival is held. On the evening of the festival, local food stalls and vendors line the streets, filling the area with the warm bustle unique to a port town. After enjoying dinner from the stalls or something to take out, spread out a picnic sheet to secure a spot for watching the fireworks. Crowds tend to grow as the sun goes down, so it's worth checking the location of restrooms during this time for peace of mind later in the evening.

Tips

About a 15-minute drive from Dose Coast. Roads around the port tend to get congested from evening onward, so leave with plenty of time to spare. It's a good idea to pick up food and drinks early.

About 2 hours. The view of the port looks especially beautiful around sunset
