About this spot

A park developed on the ruins of Mitsuzuka Temple, built in the Hakuho period (latter half of the 7th century), and a nationally designated historic site with a temple layout that is rare even nationwide. The park includes a museum and a children's park; the children's park is equipped with a sandbox and swings, as well as a Tarzan rope and large combination play equipment. The roughly 2,000-square-meter Japanese iris garden has about 50,000 plants of 63 varieties, and in June it blooms fully in white and purple. Admission and parking are both free, making it a spot where families can spend a relaxed time. It is in the same Ichijima area as the Kawasuso Festival venue, making it a good stop before the festival.

Tips

Admission and parking are free. The children's park has plenty of play equipment, so it is reassuring to plan for some playtime for the kids.
