Held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, this fireworks display is launched from around the roadside station Michi-no-Eki Ryuhyo Kaido Abashiri (道の駅流氷街道網走) and the right bank of the Abashiri River. Over 45 minutes, from 8pm to 8:45pm, fireworks are launched one after another. Viewing areas are set up in the parking lot on the east side of the roadside station (opening at 11am) and along the right bank of the Abashiri River (opening at 3pm), where you can look up at a sky full of fireworks from an open space near the launch site. It's the fireworks display that brings summer in Abashiri to a close.

Tips

In case of severe weather, the event is postponed to the following day, so check in advance whether it will be held that day. The area around the venue gets crowded after the event ends, so it's recommended to enjoy the afterglow for a while before heading home to avoid the rush.

Best time to visit

Time your visit to the event hours of 8:00pm to 8:45pm. If you want to see it from the start, secure your spot at least 30 minutes beforehand
