A traditional water-wheel facility along the Chitose River, adjacent to the Chitose Aquarium (千歳水族館), that has been used to catch salmon. You can still see the mechanism designed to efficiently catch salmon swimming upstream, giving you a sense of Chitose's long history as a town of salmon. The riverside promenade is also pleasant for a stroll, offering a spot to enjoy the coolness of the water's edge.
Tips
Recommended to visit together with the Chitose Aquarium (千歳水族館). Admission is free. Some parts along the river can be slippery underfoot, so take care.

About 45 minutes. While the main salmon-run season is autumn, a stroll along the river is also pleasant in summer
