About this spot

The especially open and spacious lawn plaza within Futtsu Park is a perfect area for playing ball or relaxing on a picnic sheet. The pine grove softens the sea breeze, creating shady spots throughout that are comfortable even at the height of summer. Spending time relaxed at a low vantage point close to the sea, quite different from the view from the observation tower, makes for a good breather in the afternoon.

Tips

Since you'll be heading back to Futtsu Park from the roadside station, allow plenty of travel time. There are several restrooms and water fountains within the park, so it's reassuring to check their locations.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 15 minutes. The afternoon, when sunlight softens a bit, is a good time to play freely.
