This was the location of the Wakuya Date clan's castle during the Edo period, now developed as Shiroyama Park. From the archive building designed to resemble a castle structure, you can view the Wakuya townscape and enjoy the scenery while learning about the region's history. The park grounds are lush with greenery and plenty of shade, making it relatively cool even on hot summer days. Start your day by experiencing how Wakuya developed as a town.

Tips

Within walking distance from JR Wakuya Station. Entry to the archive building requires an admission fee. The park has slopes, so wear comfortable walking shoes.
