Historic merchant houses and warehouses line the streets of Setai district in Sumita Town. Buildings that tell the history of the town's prosperity as a forest town remain today. A slow walk down the street lets you feel the atmosphere of traditional life. Not a flashy tourist attraction, but perfect for families to leisurely enjoy a town walk. The sight of white warehouse walls gleaming in the summer sun is also worth seeing.

2026年7月25日(土)開催、森林・林業の町として知られる住田町の夏祭りです。気仙川沿いから花火が打ち上がり、清らかな川面に光が映り込む美しい夜になります。打ち上げ数の公式発表はありませんが、地域に長く親しまれてきた夏祭りらしい、あたたかな雰囲気の中で楽しめる花火です。昼間に歩いた蔵の町並みや川辺の記憶と重なって、より印象深い夜になります。

Tips

荒天時は中止の可能性があるため、当日の開催可否は主催者の発表で確認しましょう。終了後は町中心部の道が混み合うため、少し余韻を楽しんでからの帰宅がおすすめです。

About 10 minutes by car from Michi no Eki Taneyamakahara. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. The next stop at Kesengawa River is within walking distance or short drive.
