On Saturday, July 25, 2026, fireworks are launched in Satogata-cho, Izumo City, timed to the Satogata Nursery School's summer festival. The Ichibata Electric Railway runs a special “Satogata Fireworks Train,” departing Kawato Station at 8:22 p.m. and stopping near Satogata Nursery School for 14 minutes while the fireworks are launched (fare: 100 yen for adults, 50 yen for children). About 150 fireworks are launched into the night sky — not a large-scale show, but a local seasonal tradition unique to this area where the railway and fireworks come together as one. Overlapping with the memories of Kawato Station visited earlier in the day, it becomes an even more memorable night.

The event may be canceled in bad weather, so check the organizer's announcement on the day to confirm whether it's held. Roads around the station get congested after the event ends, so it's recommended to enjoy the lingering atmosphere for a while before heading home.

Best time to visit

The fireworks train departs Kawato Station at 8:22 p.m. and arrives back at Kawato at 9:24 p.m. If viewing from the train, head to Kawato Station in time for the departure.
