Held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 8:00 to 8:30 PM, this is an offshore fireworks display around Kinoe Port on Osaki Kamijima. Offered up in conjunction with the Jushichiya Festival of Itsukushima Shrine, the fireworks launch from a barge set up offshore, with about 3,500 shells coloring the quiet island's night sky. Because it's a small port town surrounded by the sea, the sound of the fireworks echoes together with the sound of the waves for a special 30 minutes. Fireworks spreading across the night sky of an island surrounded by sea on all sides give a sense unique to a remote island, quite different from a fireworks display in the city.

In case of rain, the event is postponed to the following day, so check the organizer's announcement on the day for whether it will go ahead. The area around the ferry terminal gets crowded after it ends, so it's reassuring to check the return ferry schedule in advance. Since the ground is dark, a phone light is helpful for safety.
