This is the fireworks display that closes out Takehara's Sumiyoshi Festival, starting at 8:45 PM on Sunday, July 26, 2026. The Sumiyoshi Festival is held over two days, Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26, centered on Sumiyoshi Shrine in Honmachi, and the fireworks mark the night of the second day. Launched right next to the townscape that still carries the atmosphere of the Edo period, the fireworks create a scene unique to Takehara, where the silhouettes of historic buildings overlap with the light in the night sky. Since these fireworks are held as part of a festival rooted in the community, the local energy and warmth are also part of the charm.
