About this spot

A small island floating just off the coast, only about 15 minutes by ferry from Mugi Fishing Port. The streetscape of a fishing village dating back to the Edo period remains almost untouched, and walking its quiet alleys, free of car noise, feels like stepping back in time. The whole island is compact enough to explore on foot at a leisurely pace, making it a comfortable distance for a family stroll.

Tips

Ferry departures are limited, so check the timetable in advance and decide your outbound and return sailings. There are few shops on the island, so it's best to buy drinks on the Mugi side beforehand.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 30 minutes needed. Ferries tend to be relatively uncrowded in the early afternoon.
